Building a Legacy

In 2023, Eugene Aikikiai celebrated 29 years of serving the Eugene, OR community. We Transitioned to a non-profit organization in 2019 to ensure the future of this practice and deepen opportunities to support people interested in learning and growing through the practice of Aikido.

Our mission is to develop quality Budo, as represented by Aikido, Iaido, and Zazen, through whole-hearted practice. By quality Budo we mean much more than technical expertise. The sincere practice of Budo is a process of continual growth. We actively support each student in developing continually as a human being.

Eugene Aikikai trains whole people through the path of Budo, the heart of Aikido. Through practice, students confront and let go of ways of being that do not serve them or the greater community. We cultivate sensitivity, awareness, and compassion. We nourish a spirit of resiliency. We grow community.
